What is Interact?
Interact Clubs are clubs sponsored by Rotary Clubs that are made up of high school students for the purpose of humanitarian service, networking, building goodwill, and promoting peace around the world. Interact on the international scale includes more than 23,000 Interact Clubs in 159 countries.
Our History
Issaquah Interact was founded in 2021 by Cassie Howder, Caitlin Peterson, and Cara Peterson. Caitlin and Cara are Juniors at Gibson Ek High School, a big picture learning school in Issaquah. The school’s curriculum is student-led, project-based and centered around design-learning. As a graduation requirement, students must complete a "capstone project", a two year senior project that is community based and preferably relates to their future career asperations. The three of them have been meeting twice weekly staring in the beginning of October 2021 to work on all aspects of designing and running the club. Since then, this club has evolved as they've graduated and has brought on a brand new executive board who continues their mission.
